What is a network?
A network is a collection of computers connected by a router or switch and thereby allowing the sharing of data and resources. These routers, or switches, have connectors located in the rear to allow connection to a special cable called a Cat5 Cable. Having a network is convenient, efficient, and cost-effective. Having a network also eliminates the need to burn CDs, copy information to floppy or zip disks for transport to another computer system in the same location, eliminates the need for each system to be changed or updated one at a time, and allows multiple computers to share hardware and High Speed Internet Connections.
